6110 - FEDERAL GRANTS
The Board of Education recognizes the need for continued effort to provide services and opportunities to meet the needs of each student in the District, as well as to provide opportunities for continued staff development activities for the total District staff.
Where appropriate, the Board will encourage the pursuance of Federal money to further these activities. The Board will also develop, adopt, and implement policies that meet the requirements of each proposal.
The Board will use any money received from a Federal grant only for the purpose for which it was intended and will not use Federal money to supplant any activity currently in existence.
The Board will continue to maintain existing programs and activities so that there is a continued maintenance of effort.
The Board will provide for fiscal management policies which will ensure the coordination of funds received from any Federal monies.
The Board regards available Federal funds of aid to local school districts and communities as a public trust. It forbids the use of Federal monies for partisan political activities and for any use that would not be in accord with Federal guidelines on discrimination. The Superintendent shall ensure that each draw of Federal monies is as close as administratively feasible to the related program expenditures.
