5335.01 - CARE OF STUDENTS WITH MILK ALLERGIES
The Winton Woods City School District has adopted the following policy regarding milk substitution in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
If a student has a life-threatening allergy/disability related to consuming milk, the district must receive a medical note from a licensed physician that describes the child's condition and a prescription for a suitable milk substitution for the child. Whatever the physician prescribes (such as juice or water, etc.) will be served to that child.
If a student has a non-life-threatening allergy/disability related to consuming milk, but has a note from a physician or a parent/guardian that describes the child's condition and that they are requesting a milk substitution, the District will substitute with a "lactose-free" milk product.
