In light of the unique nature of the professional duties of certain members of the District staff and to enable these employees to be in a position to travel to, in and from the District in the performance of their job-related responsibilities regardless of the time of day, the District shall provide these employees with a vehicle for their professional or business use. It is not the intent of the Board to provide a vehicle to an employee as a fringe benefit or as a part of the employee's compensation. Further, it is the intent of the Board to provide vehicles only for bona fide noncompensatory job-related business reasons and limit personal use to only commuting or de minimis personal use.

For those employees using Board-owned vehicles, the Board has designated their homes as an extension of their respective offices and requires their availability to the District on an as needed basis as the responsibilities of their respective positions dictate and requires them to commute to and/or from work in Board-owned vehicles.
