2230 - PACING GUIDES

The Board of Education recognizes that there may be a need from time to time to augment one or more segments of a course of study with pacing guides in order to better accomplish learning results with students.

As appropriate to the course of study, each pacing guide may contain:

 A.the intended learning objective(s), defined in terms of how the learning is applied;

 B.knowledge and skills needed to achieve those objectives;

 C.learning activities needed to achieve the objective;

 D.appropriate materials and resources;

 E.suggested methods of instruction;

 F.evaluation criteria, standards, and methods which will confirm the extent to which learning objectives have been achieved;

 G.a list of supplemental materials for the guidance of teachers.

The Superintendent shall be responsible for the preparation of pacing guides and shall establish administrative guidelines related to their preparation. All appropriate staff are required to follow the District approved course of study and corresponding pacing guides as part of their professional responsibility.
