3411 - CREDIT REIMBURSEMENT OR LANE MOVEMENT

A professional staff member can have the cost of credits reimbursed or have those credits applied to lane movement on the salary schedule.

For those staff members who only hold a bachelor’s degree the following types of credits are eligible for reimbursement or lane movement: credits in an approved master’s program, credits which lead to additional licensure which benefit the District, or credits that are earned at the request of the district.

All other credits will be approved by the District Administrator.

Pre-approval for all credits must occur in order to be eligible for reimbursement or credit towards lane movement.

Professional staff may move one lane per year, unless the credits earned are part of a degree program which dictates the staff member take more than one lane’s worth of credits in one year. If this occurs, the professional staff member will be allowed to move lanes commensurate with the requirements of said degree program.

Official transcripts must be submitted no later than September 30th of each year in order for there to be lane movement for the current school year.

If the staff member opts for reimbursement, the District will pay $150 per credit. Note: reimbursement to staff may not exceed the actual cost of the educational expense as per Internal Revenue Service Code.
