8420.03 - INCLEMENT WEATHER TRANSPORTATION
It is the intent of the Board of Education that Board owned vehicles transporting students not be operated when road and weather conditions exist which present a serious risk to the safety of students, drivers, and the general public. The person charged with the responsibility of supervising transportation may, in addition to personal observation of road and weather conditions, consult with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and/or the Huron County Sheriff's Department in determining if Board owned transportation vehicles shall be operated. It is better that transportation vehicles be delayed or not at all operated rather than risk injury to students, drivers, and the general public when adverse conditions exist. This is not meant to restrict contact with any other Federal, State, or Local Agencies having information which may assist in determining road and weather conditions.
