5451A - RECOGNITION OF STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Each principal, in collaboration with appropriate staff, is to prepare a list of achievements by students in curricular and extra-curricular activities that will qualify the student for special recognition by the school and possibly by the Board of Education.
The list is to be submitted to the Superintendent for review and approval by June 30th of each school year. Once approved, the list is to be included in each revision of the Student Handbooks and distributed to all:

| C. | parents. |
Each school may submit to the Superintendent at any time, recommendations that the Board provide special recognition to any student or group of students who demonstrate unusual accomplishment.
Honor Rolls
Each school shall establish an honor roll to publicly recognize high academic achievement. Standards for selection to the honor roll and procedures for computation of averages are the responsibility of the principal and should be developed so the same criteria and standards are used throughout the District.
The honor roll lists are to be published in school and community newspapers when possible.
