7461 - SCHOOL FOREST

The School District of Westfield owns and maintains the school forests at Coloma and Westfield, and the Donner Preserve. The Pioneer Westfield School Forest and the Melvin Donner Preserve are maintained by the high school agriculture department and local FFA Chapter. While the School District’s constituents are encouraged to use the shelter house (Coloma), take nature walks in either forest, unauthorized vehicular traffic is prohibited without Board permission.

If individuals or groups wish to use the Coloma School forest shelter for picnics or gatherings, they may request use of same by proper filing of the School Facilities Rental Form. These forms may be secured from the Coloma Elementary School Principal or his/her representative.

All vehicular traffic is limited to established roadways.

Absolutely no hunting will be permitted in school forests.
