4160A - PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

 A.Prior to beginning employment in the District, each full-time classified staff member shall present evidence of a satisfactory medical examination from a physician designated by the applicant.

 B.Each classified staff member will be required to execute a release that complies with the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act in order to allow the report of the physical to be released to the Board, and to allow the Superintendent or his/her designee to speak to the healthcare provider who conducted the medical examination in order to get clarification (see Form 4160 F2). Such report should indicate whether the staff member can perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

 C.The District will pay for the cost of this required examination, when performed by a Board-assigned physician.

 D.Each classified staff member is required to be able to perform the essential functions of his/her assigned position, with or without reasonable accommodation, in a satisfactory manner.

 E.Written evidence that a classified staff member can perform the essential functions of his/her position, with or without reasonable accommodation, may be required periodically by the Board from a physician of the Board’s choosing with the Board assuming the expense of such an examination.
