The District shall follow and comply with the general guidelines outlined in the Special Education Model Policies and Procedures ("Model Policies") identified in Board Policy 2460 and on file in the office of the Director of Special Education. Said guidelines shall be interpreted in a manner that is consistent and compliant with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEIA) and its implementing regulations, and the Operating Standards for Ohio Educational Agencies Serving Children with Disabilities ("Operating Standards") set forth in the Ohio Administrative Code.

While the Model Policies are comprehensive, the District recognizes its obligation to follow all relevant laws and regulations, regardless of whether their provisions are restated in the Model Policies.
