2340.01 - CHAPERONE ETHICS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Chaperones on any school sponsored event or trip shall:

	A.	put the activities and safety of all students as the top priority;
	B.	refrain from any and all use of alcoholic beverages or narcotic medications while on the trip;
	C.	help school staff to promote safe and responsible behavior from the students;
	D.	set a good example for the students at all times;
	E.	work cooperatively with the school staff member that is in charge of the trip.

If a chaperone behaves in any way that is contradictory to these guidelines, s/he will be asked to leave the trip by the school staff member in charge. The school will aide the staff sponsor by providing alternate transportation for the students and/or additional supervision as needed.
