The Governing Board may grant a leave of absence to a professional staff member for good and sufficient reason.

All requests for unpaid leaves of absence by classified staff members shall be presented to the Superintendent, and if s/he approves, they will be presented to the Board for final approval.

Any classified staff member granted a leave of absence by the Board shall be considered to have terminated all work with the Educational Service Center until the completion of the leave. Exceptions may be made by the Superintendent in cases where the best interest of the Educational Service Center might be served.
