4415.01 - SEVERANCE ADDENDUM

The Paulding County Educational Service Center and Van Wert County Educational Service Center shall become a merged entity on July 1, 1998. Therefore, in order to protect employees from losing benefits in the areas of sick leave/severance under newly adopted policies, the following rules shall apply:

 A.On June 30, 1998, employees with more than 180 days accumulated sick leave shall be capped at their present level.

 B.Severance to these employees shall be paid as follows:

  1.Upon retirement, severance pay will be granted to these employees according to law. To be eligible for severance pay, an employee must have five (5) continuous years of service with the Educational Service Center Governing Board.

  2.With less than ten (10) years continuous service with the Education Service Center Governing Board, the maximum severance pay will be limited to one-fourth (1/4) of their allowable accumulated sick leave days but NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY (30) DAYS.

  3.With more than ten (10) years of continuous service with the Educational Service Center Governing Board, the maximum severance pay will be limited to one-fourth (1/4) of accumulated sick leave days but NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY (50) DAYS.

 C.Compensation will be based on daily rate in effect at date of retirement.

 D.Those employees meeting the requirements of this addendum are listed (list Attached). All other employees will follow sick leave/severance policies adopted by the merged entity effective
July 1, 1998.
