D.shall encourage students and parents to start each day with a healthy breakfast either at home or at school; and

E.shall include, whenever practical, the sharing of information about childhood obesity, proper nutrition, and diet with families and members of the community at large; shall integrate health and physical education, whenever possible, in health, family and consumer science, language arts, science, and social studies classes.

School schedules in each building shall show concern for childhood obesity and shall show concern for the scheduling of recesses and physical education classes throughout the day and/or week. When possible, the gymnasium might be used if the weather precludes outside recesses.

Building principals shall publish to the community the times that each school building shall be available for community walking and/or exercise.

Development of the student wellness program must be a collaborative effort between parents, students, food service workers, administrators, the Board, and the public.

The Superintendent, building principals and cafeteria manger shall oversee the implementation and evaluation of this policy. This policy shall be evaluated at least once annually.
