In order to ensure reliable assistance in the absence of regular classified personnel, the Board of Education will offer compensation to qualified substitutes.

Classified substitutes will be paid on a per diem basis at a rate set annually by the Board.

Classified substitutes employed for more than thirty (30) days in one (1) specific position will be placed on the Step I position of the salary schedule, and after sixty (60) days in one (1) specific position will be eligible for fringe benefits provided regular staff members.
