3123 - ENTRY-YEAR PROGRAM FOR PROFESSIONAL STAFF
The Board of Education intends to provide all first year professional staff members a year-long program of orientation, assistance, and support during their first year of employment in the District.
| A. | "Entry-year program" means a program of support provided by a school district to meet the unique needs of an individual in the first year of employment under a classroom teaching certificate or an educational personnel certificate. | ||
| B. | "Mentor" means a person assigned to provide professional support to an individual in the first year of employment under a classroom teaching certificate or an educational personnel certificate. |
The Board of Education will implement this policy by means of an Entry-Year Mentor plan to be reviewed by the Board every five (5) years.
The Board directs the Superintendent to develop guidelines to implement this policy.
