2411 - CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING

The Board of Education recognizes that career guidance and counseling should be an integral part of any educational program and will make such services available as appropriate to District programs.

Career guidance and counseling services should:

 A.assist students in achieving their optimum growth;

 B.enable students to draw the greatest benefit from the offerings of the instructional program;

 C.aid students in identifying options and making choices in vocational/technical and academic educational planning;

 D.assist students in career awareness and planning;

 E.help integrate all the student's experience so that s/he can better relate school activity to life outside the school;

 F.help students learn to make decisions and solve problems independently.

The Superintendent is directed to implement counseling and guidance programs and/or reinforce those developed by constituent local districts.
