2110 - STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY

The Intermediate School District is an organization formed to meet specific needs of the residents. Our attempt to meet these needs are premised on the following foundation of beliefs:

All individuals have worth, can learn, and have talents that need to be developed.

Diversity is our strength and all people must be respected and valued as individuals with potential.

Our outreach of service must extend beyond the school-age population and must touch individuals of all ages throughout our intermediate district in terms of attitudes, information, and support systems.

Our organization is responsible to continue to provide the supports necessary to ensure the success of the services and programs it sponsors.

Our educational endeavors must continue to be pro-active and stay abreast of cutting-edge concepts.

For ongoing success in a constantly changing culture, we must develop and maintain partnerships with our communities, businesses, and industries.

Our goals must create positive outcomes for impacting the quality of life for all populations in our service areas.

As a learning organization, we should continuously assess, modify, and improve our services while moving toward our goals.

The efficacy of our organization is based on strengths of both organizational design and those possessed by each staff member. These strengths must be combined through the organizational improvement process to maximize teamwork and interdependence.

While these beliefs form the general basis for our efforts, it must be recognized that our society's needs are constantly changing. Those changes will require us to continually assess our belief systems.
