Administrative Guidelines
 

2421 - ASSIGNMENT OF STUDENTS TO CLASSES--VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

 A.Enrollment Criteria

  1.The student must be enrolled in a high school located in the District or for a participating tuition paying school.

  2.Students will be selected for enrollment by the home high school.

  3.Students are eligible for enrollment who demonstrate an interest and aptitude in a particular vocational skill, as determined through an established career counseling program at the home high school.

 B.Enrollment Procedures

  1.Limiting factors to the number of enrolled students include, but are not limited to, facilities, finances, and the placement possibilities.

  2.The administrative staff will determine an effective student-teacher ratio for a quality program.

  3.The administrative staff will distribute the assignment information to each high school.

  4.The local high school will, through their selection procedures, enroll students whose aptitude, attitude, interest, and career goals indicate that the student will benefit from a course selection.

 C.The program will be individualized, when necessary, using vocational education performance objectives.

The I.E.P. or other accommodation requirements are to be completed in accordance with law and District policies and guidelines.
