2431.01 - TOURNAMENT ATTENDANCE

Ticket Policy for State Tournament Participation

Whenever a team qualifies for participation in a state tournament the following procedure will be utilized for tickets:

 A.Students - First priority for tickets will go to students; one (1) each. Seating for students shall be in a group with pep band and pep club and in the best available seats.

 B.Participation of Participants - Two (2) tickets will be reserved and sold to parents of players, managers, and cheerleaders. These tickets will be reserved only for parents attending the game. Parents wishing more tickets must buy tickets with the general public.

 C.School Board, Administration, and Staff - Two (2) tickets will be reserved for Board members and employees only if they are going to the game. Board members, administration, and staff members desiring extra tickets must buy with the general public.

 D.General Public - All remaining tickets will be available to the general public. A limit of six (6) tickets per person may be purchased by the public.

Under no conditions are tickets to be reserved except as specified in this policy. The first priority of tickets and seating is for students, second for parents, third for School Board and staff, and finally, for the general public.

Non-Participation of School District

Varsity team athletes who complete their season in good standing may attend their WIAA state tournament, even if Valders High School is not participating as a team. They may attend on their own, with parent permission, and with a planned absence approved by the high school principal. No expenses will be paid by the School District for students attending on their own. Signed hold-harmless statements from parents must be on file prior to any student receiving a planned absence approval by the high school principal. Forms are to be available in the high school office.

At the discretion of the principal, the head coach and up to two (2) additional high school coaches may attend state tournaments in their respective co-curricular event, and the cost of their respective tickets and car pooled mileage to the games will be paid by the School District.
