2230 - COURSE GUIDES

The Board of Education recognizes that the District must develop and maintain curriculum course guides in order to better accomplish learning results with students.

As appropriate to the course of study, each guide shall contain:

 A.the intended learnings, defined in terms of how the learning is applied;

 B.knowledge and skills needed to achieve those learnings;

 C.learning activities needed;

 D.appropriate materials and resources;

 E.evaluation criteria, standards, and methods which will confirm the extent to which learning outcomes have been achieved;

 F.a list of supplemental materials for the guidance of teachers.

All new course guides and revisions of existing guides shall be submitted to the Board for approval.

Copies of all current course guides shall be kept on file in the office of the Director of Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction.
