7230.01 - MEMORIALS AND TRIBUTES

No individual or groups of individuals will be permitted to construct any honor roll, memorial or other structure of any kind in a school building or on school grounds, except by special permission. Such permission may be granted by the Superintendent for memories and tributes costing less than $1,000 (one thousand dollars) while those costing more will require approval of the Board after it receives the recommendation of the Superintendent.

Permission will not be granted for any permanent structure unless it has arbitrary value in the operation of the school plant and/or it is constructed in memory of an individual or group of individuals who have been associated with the school either as students or employees or whose actions have had a profound effect on the lives of students.

Permission will not be considered until after the sponsoring individual or groups of individuals demonstrate that funding is in place to complete the project.

Permission to construct any temporary structure will be given only on the condition that the structure will be removed within a time specified by the Board and that the premises will be restored to the condition in which found.
