The Board believes that the most appropriate location for middle school students to eat lunch is in a supervised setting, either on the school campus or at home. The Board recognizes however, that some parents/guardians of middle school students may prefer that their students be permitted to go to other locations for lunch. In an effort to honor those beliefs and preferences, a regulation making provision for requests to leave the school campus during a student’s lunch period shall accompany this policy. This purpose of said policy is to provide for appropriate accountability and safety of all middle school students.
