2210 - CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
The ultimate responsibility for curriculum development rests with the Superintendent. The approval of the Board is necessary before a course is added or deleted from the existing curriculum. The Board reviews and approves K-12 graded courses of study upon completion and prior to their implementation.
Equally important, however, is the shared responsibility incumbent upon all professional staff members. It is imperative that the energies and expertise of staff members be involved in a continuous, systematic and integrated process of the following:
| A. | assessing and evaluating current instructional practices and programs in response to changing needs; | ||
| B. | studying, reviewing and implementing educational research and best practices; | ||
| C. | identifying and effectively utilizing available resources; | ||
| D. | insuring both long and short range planning and budgeting for implementation; and | ||
| E. | providing for orderly renewal of graded courses of study including high quality professional development and parent information. |
