8130 - ORGANIZATION OF INSTRUCTION
The District’s instructional program is conducted in five (5) elementary schools which house kindergarten through grade five, two (2) middle schools which house grades six through eight, and one (1) high school which houses grades nine through twelve. An informal alternative is available to students K – 5. This alternative functions within the elementary and middle schools.
| A. | The District will offer a choice of two (2) programs at levels K through 5. These program choices will be known as Informal and Contemporary. | ||
| B. | The District will clearly define and describe all instructional methods used within both Informal and Contemporary classrooms to ensure parents and students can make well-informed choices regarding the placement of their child(ren). All District teachers use a common curriculum and administer common assessments. | ||
| C. | The District will equally support, on a per-capita basis, each program. | ||
| D. | The District will maintain records of the performance indicators of the results of each program to allow the Board to appropriately evaluate the effectiveness of each program. Such performance indicators and evaluation will be provided to parents in support of "B" above. They will include holistic, nationally standardized test scores, proficiency test scores, parent/teacher surveys, School Improvement Plans and administrative reports. |
