5240 - REGISTERING AND SCHEDULING STUDENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUCTION
A course must have at least twenty-seven (27) students registered for the course before it is included in the master schedule. Exceptions to this number would:
| A. | Vocational courses (by July 1, the State required minimum number of students must be registered for the course before it is included in the master schedule.) | ||
| B. | Lab courses, studio courses, or other courses where enrollment is dictated by facilities | ||
| C. | Special education classes | ||
| D. | Adjusted classes (A minimum of ten (10) students should be registered for an adjusted class. The administration will make every effort not to register more than fifteen (15) students per adjusted class.) | ||
| E. | Independent study assignments. |
Honors, advanced placement (AP) courses, and International Baccalaureate must have at least eighteen (18) students, and second year and each succeeding year of a sequential course must have at least fifteen (15) students registered for the course before it is included in the master schedule.
Exceptions to the above may be made with the approval of the Superintendent. A report will be made to the Board of Education each May of any exceptions so approved, with the exception of vocational courses, if any, that will be reported at the June Board meeting.
