5111A - FULL-TIME STUDENT
All students enrolled in Traverse City secondary schools shall be of full-time status as defined by the School Aid Act of 1979 (388.1606 Section 6(q)).
To be a full-time student, a student must:
| A. | Be enrolled in six (6) hours of class each semester; or | ||
| B. | Be enrolled in five (5) hours of class each semester and meet the criteria for a reduced schedule which includes one (1) or more of the following: |
| 1. | Enrolled in higher education classes (NMC or AP). | |||
| 2. | Economic necessity. | |||
| 3. | Educational best interest of the student. |
Exceptions are:
| A. | Students whose I.E.P.C. or Section 504 plans dictate that they attend less than full-time. | ||
| B. | Students who are registered in a certified home school program. | ||
| C. | Students who are dual-enrolled in a private or public secondary school. |
In order for permission to be granted for a reduced schedule, a Reduced Schedule Request and Approval Form must be completed and on file in the counselor's office.
