7410 - MAINTENANCE

Damage to Buildings

All major damage to school buildings shall be reported as soon as possible by the principal to the Superintendent and Director of Buildings and Grounds.

A written report of the damage shall be filed with the Superintendent within five (5) working days following the incident.

All break-ins, acts of vandalism, or other illegal acts, which result in minor damage or loss of property, shall be reported within forty-eight (48) hours by the principal to the Superintendent. A written report of the damage shall be filed with the Superintendent's office within ten (10) working days following the incident.

Collection for Damages

The Board supports efforts to collect from individuals or groups who have caused damage to school property through vandalism, mischievous behavior, or gross negligence.

Maintenance

Every effort should be made to maintain school buildings properly. The Director of Buildings and Grounds shall make periodic inspections of each building and submit reports to the principal. Copies of these reports shall be given to the Superintendent.
