It is the responsibility of each individual staff member to maintain the skills and professional competence in his/her assigned responsibilities in the Corporation.

The School Board supports the concept of staff development for the purpose of professional and Corporation improvement. A program of staff development for teachers may be organized and supervised by the building principal in each school.

Each person is encouraged to participate in meetings, conferences, conventions, and school visitations directly related to improving job skills and to school improvement plans.

District or building guidelines shall govern application procedures, the level of any monetary reimbursement for expenses, and record-keeping and reporting related to staff development activities supported in part or whole by the Corporation.

All claims for reimbursement shall be limited to specified guidelines and shall be accompanied by appropriate documentation.
