2520 - SELECTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
The School Board shall provide instructional materials and equipment, within budgetary constraints, to implement the Corporation's educational goals and objectives and to meet students' needs. The primary objective of such instructional materials and equipment shall be to enrich, support, and implement the educational program of the school.
The Superintendent shall develop administrative guidelines for the selection and maintenance of all educational and instructional materials and equipment.
A student or his/her parents shall be held responsible for the cost of replacing any materials or properties which are lost or damaged through their negligence.
A fee to cover the actual cost of materials may be charged to the student for materials used in those activities beyond the basic curriculum in which a student elects to participate, particularly in activities where the product becomes the property of the student.
|A.||The Board shall annually adopt regulations governing the collection of fees, including textbook rental, in accordance with I.C. 20-8.1-9-1 et seq.|
|B.||Materials shall be of a quality and durability appropriate to their intended use and longevity.|
|C.||Materials shall relate to, support, and enrich the courses of study adopted by the Board.|
A listing of all resource materials shall be made available for use of the professional staff, for information of members of the Board, and patrons.
