2370 - EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAMS AND PILOT PROJECTS

To the extent that School Corporation instructional goals are supported, experimental programs or pilot projects are recognized as a potential means of improving the quality of instruction. All such programs shall require approval of the Board. In considering approval, the Board shall consider the following criteria:

 A.support of specified instruction goal(s) of the School Corporation;

 B.specified criteria for measurement of results;

 C.benefit and potential adverse effect on students, patrons, or employees;

 D.number of experimental programs or pilot projects already in progress.

Approval of experimental programs or projects will be for a specified period of time. A schedule of progress reports will be established at the time of approval. After the specified period of time for the pilot program has elapsed, the program will be analyzed as to the effectiveness and may be continued upon Board approval
