5514.01 - STUDENT USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES
The School Board regards the use of motor vehicles for travel to and from school by students as an assumption of responsibility on the part of those students - a responsibility in the care of property; in the observation of safety rules; and in the display of courtesy and consideration toward others.
The Board will permit the use of motor vehicles by students, in accordance with the rules of this Corporation, provided that such students are licensed drivers and have been granted permission by the administrator to drive a motor vehicle on school grounds.
The Board will not permit the operation of any motor driven vehicle on the ground of the schools other then parking lots of the School corporation except in those cases where regular school business is being transacted. Vehicles include go-carts, mini bikes, scooters, and motorcycles as well as automobiles.
The Board will not be responsible for motor vehicles which are lost, stolen, or damaged.
The Superintendent shall develop administrative guidelines for the operation parking of motor vehicles and shall disseminate those guidelines to all students so affected.
