9200 - PARENT-SCHOOL COUNCIL
The Board of Education officially recognizes the Sylvania Parent-School Council as the coordinating body for the formally recognized parent-school units of the entire School District. It further recognizes that the general purpose of this council is to serve as a medium through which the formally organized parent-school organizations affiliated with the School District can look together at current issues which are beyond the scope of a single organization working alone. Organized into a council, a group of organizations can place the power of united planning and effort to solve community-wide problems affecting the educational growth and development of our youth.
The philosophy of the Board shall be to actively encourage the formation of parent-school groups and encourage their affiliation with the Parent-School Council.
Administrators of the local school units are encouraged to foster the development of adequate parent-school groups to affect two-way communications between the school and local community. The Superintendent and/or designated representative, shall work closely with the Parent-School Council in the fostering of cooperative efforts in attaining the objectives and goals of the District.
