8430 - BOMB THREAT
While the likelihood of a bomb actually being placed in a school is very remote, the Board of Education believes the following steps should be taken to ensure the safety of students and staff:
| A. | Students and staff will be evacuated from the building upon the decision of the principal. | |
| B. | Police and fire officials will be contacted and requested to investigate. Police may enlist the assistance of outside help. | |
| C. | The Superintendent's Office will be contacted. |
Administrators, building engineers, and maintenance personnel will assist and cooperate with police and fire officials.
Police and school authorities will make every effort to determine who made the bomb threat call. If an individual is apprehended, s/he shall be prosecuted to the fullest extent permitted by law. If a student is involved, the Student Code of Conduct will be enforced to its fullest and the matter referred to the appropriate court.
