4122.01 - DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE
The Board of Education believes that quality education is not possible in an environment affected by drugs. It will seek, therefore, to establish and maintain an educational setting which is free from the use or evidence of use of any controlled substance.
Pursuant to the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 and its implementing regulations, the following statement is adopted:
| A. | The unlawful possession, use, abuse, or distribution of controlled substances and any drug paraphernalia as the term is defined by law, by an employee on school premises or as part of any school related activity is prohibited. | ||
| B. | Possession, use or distribution of alcoholic beverages by an employee on school premises or as part of any school related activities is prohibited. | ||
| C. | Disciplinary sanctions up to and including termination of employment and referral for prosecution will be imposed on employees who violate the standards of conduct set forth in paragraphs A and B of this policy. | ||
| D. | Information will be available about drug and alcohol counseling, rehabilitation and reentry programs for employees. | ||
| E. | Employees will be given a copy of the standards of conduct and the statement of disciplinary sanctions required. | ||
| F. | Notification will be given to employees that compliance with the standards of conduct required is mandatory. |
