6151 - NON-SUFFICIENT FUNDS CHECKS
When the Treasurer receives the return of a check from a depository due to non-sufficient funds, a closed account, or otherwise, the Treasurer/designee may take any or all of the following actions:
| A. | redeposit the returned item; | |
| B. | use the services of a third party vendor to secure collection of the funds from the drawer; | |
| C. | request assistance from other District personnel to secure collection of the funds from the drawer; | |
| D. | press civil charges against the drawer; | |
| E. | press criminal charges against the drawer by referral to the proper authorities. |
The cost of any services of a third party collection services are to be passed along to the drawer. Any costs, including but not limited to attorney fees and court costs, are to be passed along to the drawer as permitted by law.
