6110 - GRANT FUNDS
It is the objective of the Board of Education to provide appropriate educational opportunities for all students within the state. Therefore, it is the intent of the Board to study Federal and State legislation to provide better educational opportunities, better educational environment, and better physical and mental growth for each student.
The administration shall review new Federal education legislation and prepare grant applications. The Board shall authorize annually the Superintendent to apply for grants when available and beneficial to Board and students.
The Board regards available Federal funds of aid to local School Districts and communities as a public trust. It forbids the use of Federal monies for partisan political activities and for any use that would not be in accord with applicable Federal or state law. If the Board determines particular areas in which Federal money can assist and provide better educational opportunities for the students of this Board, this money will be expended with like consideration and responsibility given to other Board funds.
