The Board of Education recognizes the importance of implementing a program of staff evaluation for the purpose of promoting professional growth and improving services to students to the end that student performance may be improved and individual teaching staff member accountability for the accomplishment of District goals and objectives insured.

Administrators should recognize that the purposes of this policy cannot be realized by evaluations which do not record the weaknesses as well as strengths of teaching staff members. Assessments which are less than honest and candid serve neither the professional growth of the teaching staff member nor the interest of the District in building a staff of highly competent, well-trained personnel.
