1544 - REHIRING RETIRED ADMINISTRATION
The Board of Education must give a public notice and hold a public meeting before rehiring a retired administrator to the same position. The public notice must be given at least sixty (60) days prior to the date reemployment is to begin and must indicate the person in question is or will be retired and is seeking employment by the Board. The public notice must state the time, date and location at which the public meeting is to take place.
The Board must then hold a public meeting on the issue of the person being employed by the Board between fifteen (15) and thirty (30) days prior to the date reemployment is to begin.
These procedures apply only to situations where a retiring administrator is returning to the same position which s/he held at the time of retirement.
If the Board makes a determination that the hiring of a retired administrator will serve the best interest of Streetsboro City Schools, a contract of employment will be offered and will include the following:
| A. | A contract offered by the Board shall be for no more than a single period of up to twelve (12) months and the contracting administrator will waive any and all rights to subsequent, succeeding contracts that might otherwise be provided by statute. | ||
| B. | The administrator shall waive any and all rights to insurance benefits paid for by the Board, but shall secure such benefits through STRS/SERS or another source. | ||
| C. | The administrator agrees and waives any and all right to accumulate sick leave days against the Board for severance purposes. Sick leave shall accrue at 1.25 days per month and may be accumulated from year to year. | ||
| D. | The administrator shall be compensated at a ninety percent (90%) salary with the understanding that s/he has no right to incremental salary steps or any other increase during the term of the contract. The administrator may be given the same raise granted to all administrators currently employed by the Board for that year. |
