3432.01 - OTHER HEALTH-RELATED LEAVES
When an employee has exhausted accrued sick leave, s/he shall be listed as an "employee on involuntary unpaid leave." After thirty (30) days on unpaid leave, the employee may request a medical leave of absence. A letter from the employee's physician is a prerequisite for granting such leave.
When an employee is placed on involuntary unpaid leave or approved medical leave of absence by the Board of Education at the recommendation of his/her doctor, the employee may continue receiving benefits under the group benefit plans by paying monthly premiums.
No more than thirty (30) days of involuntary unpaid leave shall be granted to an employee in any given school year without approval of the Board.
