5420 - STUDENT PROGRESS REPORTS TO PARENTS

The South-Western City Board of Education feels that it is essential for parents to be kept fully informed of their children's progress in school. The type of progress reports sent to parents will be devised by the professional staff in cooperation with parents.

Written reports will be provided to parents of children in grades kindergarten through 12 at the end of each grading period. Supplementary reports will also be required for students in danger of failing at the midpoint of the grading period. The failure of the parent to receive such a notice does not ensure that the student will not receive an F for the grading period. Conferences with parents will be used as an integral part of the reporting system.
