A Loss in the Neola Family

It is with deep sadness that we share this news with you:  Richard N. Clapp (“Dick”), Ph.D., President/CEO of Neola, Inc., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Dick earned his bachelor’s degree at Hiram College and his master’s degree and Doctorate of Philosophy from Kent State University.  He served seventeen years as a history teacher, coach, and administrator in Ohio public schools before becoming the Superintendent at Woodridge Local Schools in Ohio, a position he held for thirteen years.  Upon retirement, he acquired Neola, Inc. and served as President/CEO for over twenty years. During his tenure, he provided outstanding and visionary leadership growing the company from 350 school district clients to more than 1,550 district clients across six states.

Dick will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 46 years, Polly, and their devoted daughters Jennifer and Amanda.

Many of you came into contact with Dick through his “World Tour” of clients, conventions, golf outings and other meetings.  Those of you who met Dick in person understand the sadness and sense of loss his entire Neola family feels.

Arrangements are pending and information will be posted to the Neola, Inc. website once the arrangements have been finalized.  Condolences for the family may be forwarded to the Neola, Inc. business office in Stow, Ohio.
