The Board of Education is committed to transporting students on school buses in a manner that is safe and consistent with the Board's goal of resource conservation. Also, unnecessary bus idling wastes fuel and financial resources. Therefore, the Board prohibits all unnecessary school bus idling.

This policy applies to all buses used to transport students to and from school, co-curricular/extra-curricular activities, field trips, and other school-related activities.

The Board directs the Superintendent/designee to develop and maintain regulations to implement this policy.
