It is the purpose of the Board of Education to establish financial controls for the management of athletic programs and activities associated with athletics. These are programs organized to provide for the physically, musically and dramatically gifted students who are interested in specializing in a particular sport, musical style or speech activity and includes staff training, league membership, awards, music and competing and performing at various levels.

The principal and directors control, with funds raised primarily from, but not limited to, gate receipts, concession activities, performances, donations, patrons and other selected projects

The athletic fund shall consist of those programs which have student participation but not student management.

The Board will facilitate the interscholastic athletic program by providing sufficient funds to overcome any deficit existing in the athletic fund at the conclusion of the school year.

The Treasurer/athletic director shall be responsible for the administration of the athletic fund. The fund will be audited annually and will be administered under appropriate accounting controls. The books of account will include income and expenses separately for each approved athletic program.
