5890 - DUES, FEES, AND OTHER COLLECTIONS OF MONEY

Textbooks shall be furnished by the Board of Education. The only authorized assessments or payments by students shall be as follows:

 A.lost books or damage to books

 B.consumable supplies and approved workbooks

 C.broken or misused materials or equipment

 D.cost of materials used in Industrial Arts or Home Economics when the item is being made for personal use

 E.optional purchase by elementary school students of one of the following: Reader's Digest, Junior Scholastic or Weekly Reader

 F.fines for overdue books

 G.dues established by regularly organized clubs and approved by the administration

 H.class dues (if the student wants to participate in class activities)

 I.locker fees (funds to be designated to principal's 018)

Unauthorized assessments or payments by students shall be as follows:

 A.high school or junior high school class or group subscriptions to magazines such as Time, Reader's Digest, Popular Mechanics, Scholastic, etc.

 B.the purchase of equipment or teacher aids

 C.aid or gifts to teachers or students

 D.donations to any cause other than voluntary contributions as approved by the principal

 E.school fees or dues to be added to the general fund

All fines and fees collected shall be turned over regularly through the principal's office to the Treasurer.
