5514 - STUDENT USE OF BICYCLES AND MOTOR VEHICLES

All students driving cars to Perry High School must register with the principal's office. These cars must be parked in the parking lot at places so designated by the principal. In event of bad weather, the principal may relax this rule for safety reasons. No Edison Junior High student will be permitted to drive any motor vehicle to school.

Since the Perry Local Board of Education provides transportation for students, the use of an automobile for the purpose of traveling to and from school is a privilege granted by the Board and not a student right. Detention will be assigned if parking rules are violated. The privilege may be denied either temporarily or permanently because of violation of any of the rules pertaining to driving to school on school property.

Go Carts, Snow Mobiles, and Two-Wheeled Motorized Vehicles

Go carts and two-wheeled motorized vehicles are not permitted on school property unless these vehicles are used as transportation to and from school for instruction purposes. When they are used as transportation to and from school, they must be parked in the designated parking areas. Students riding the above vehicles on grass or playing areas will be subject to penalty under the student rules of conduct.
