5409 - STUDENT ACCELERATION

In order to comply with the requirements of R.C. 3324.10 that boards of education adopt and implement a policy commencing with the 2006-2007 school year that addresses at least whole grade and subject area acceleration, and early high school graduation, the Board expressly combines herein and incorporates by reference:

 A.Policy 5112 - Entrance Requirements

 B.Policy 5410 - Promotion, Academic Acceleration, Placement, and Retention

 C.Policy 5464 - Early High School Graduation

 D.AG 5112A - Admission to Kindergarten

 E.AG 5410 - Promotion, Academic Acceleration, Placement, and Retention (NOTE: this title is appropriate if version one or version two of the guideline was chosen.)

 F.AG 5410 - Promotion, Placement, and Retention (NOTE: This title is appropriate if version three or version four of the guideline was chosen.)

 G.AG 5464 - Early High School Graduation - Advanced Learners (NOTE: This selection is appropriate if version two of the policy was chosen.)

Students and/or parents who are interested in student evaluation and consideration for whole grade or subject area acceleration or early high school graduation should contact the building principal and/or the student's guidance counselor. Parents who wish to have their child evaluated and considered for early admission to kindergarten should contact the building principal and/or gifted coordinator.
