3250 - WORKING PERIODS

The periods of work required of the professional staff shall be clearly specified to ensure the smooth and regular operation of the School District.

Where not otherwise specified in the terms of a collectively negotiated agreement, the Board of Education reserves the right to specify the working hours for professional staff members.

All employees are obligated to report regularly for the performance of their duties except as authorized by these policies and approved by the Superintendent. During a period of authorized absence, partial or full compensation may be paid within the limitations of these policies and the laws governing such absences.

Hours of Licensed Personnel

Teachers shall be in their rooms at their respective buildings at the times mutually agreed to by the principal and the local Superintendent and will remain on duty until such time as designated for dismissal. Each building principal is responsible for establishing the division of time as the individual building dictate. The length of the school day for all teachers shall be approximately seven and a half hours (7 1/2).

Absence from Buildings During Regular Work Hours

No employee shall leave his/her assigned job during the regular working hours without the permission of his/her immediate superior and building principal. An employee need not get permission to leave the building or his/her assigned job during his/her regularly scheduled lunch period.
