2370.01 - E-LEARNING POLICY

The District will use online/E-Learning classes to supplement the curriculum, allow students to take overload classes, allow homebound students to take classes at home, encourage home school students to take classes that cannot be offered at home, and to provide a variety of choice of curriculum at the District. District teachers, guidance personnel, and administrators will benefit from online classes and to counsel those who will strive to identify those students who will benefit from online classes and to counsel those who will not meet the additional demands of online classes accordingly. Enrollment in the online classes is a privilege, not a right. Students may be denied the privilege of enrollment if their academic and behavioral record does not indicate the academic ability and self-discipline needed to succeed in online classes. Online classes taken through the South Start Online Learning Consortium are District classes and will be so regarded and recorded on District Student transcripts.
