8420.01 - HOMELAND SECURITY

Any employee hired after April 14, 2006 must complete a Homeland Security form to comply with Senate Bill 9. This form consists of six (6) questions for employees hired after April 14, 2006 to declare that they are not a member of a terrorist organization and have not provided "material assistance" to a terrorist organization. If all questions are answered "no", the form will be kept in the employee’s file. If any replies are marked "yes", the ESC must notify the Division of Homeland Security and forward the form to the agency. The ESC may not employ any person who answers "yes" until a review has been conducted by the Division of Homeland Security. There is an appeal process for those completing the form who were denied employment.
